Itinerary
April 4
Saturday
Arrive in Aswan
This is the ideal day for guests to arrive, check in to their accommodations, and take some time to rest after travel. Light exploration of Aswan is possible for those who feel up to it, but the focus is on getting settled and over jet lag.
April 5
Sunday
Dahabiya Embarkation + Henna Night / Leilet el-Henna
Guests will embark on the dahabiya cruise, settle into their cabins, and unwind. On the evening before the wedding, we will hold a traditional henna party for the bride on the dahabiya (don't worry, the groom's will be a few days before). All guests are warmly invited to take part.
April 6
Monday
Wedding Day
TBD early afternoon photoshoot at Gebel el-Silsila. Non-dahabiya guests should plan to arrive at a TBD location near Kom Ombo or Daraw where they will be able to park vehicles and board a boat which will take them directly to the wedding venue on Bisaw Island. The rest of the day will be dedicated to the wedding celebration.
April 7
Tuesday
Kom Ombo + Edfu Temples
We will stop at sites along the Nile, with the main highlight being Kom Ombo Temple in the morning. The afternoon's highlight is a guided visit to Edfu Temple.
April 8
Wednesday
Dahabiya Disembarkation
Guests will disembark at Luxor (Esna), transfer to their hotels or the villas, and have the afternoon free. Some may wish to begin sightseeing at Luxor’s many historic sites.
April 9
Thursday
Day in Luxor
This will be a free day where guests can visit Luxor's many famous sites, or relax by the pool. Our top recommendations for Luxor are:
- early-morning hot air balloon ride over Luxors temples and desert / Nile landscape
- Hatshepsut Temple
- Valley of the Kings
Beyond...
After the celebrations in Upper Egypt, we will most likely return to Dahab on the Red Sea. Anyone with extra time is welcome to join us there to enjoy snorkelling in the clear waters, mountain excursions, and a glimpse of Bedouin life in one of Egypt’s most relaxed seaside towns.
April 10
Friday
Depart Luxor
Most guests will depart Luxor by plane, whether heading home, to Cairo, or on to Dahab. We encourage everyone to share their onward travel plans with us so we can help coordinate.
