Julia + Ahmed

Julia, a Canadian who has called Dahab home for the past five years, spends her days rescuing dogs, gardening, creating art, and studying to become a therapist. Ahmed, an OBGYN from Kom Ombo, balances his work in medicine with a love for data science, visual art, statistics, and training their dogs. Though they had both lived in Dahab for years, their paths only crossed in March 2024 through mutual friends. From camping trips and beach days to long hikes and laughter, their friendship quickly deepened. They fell in love on a remote adventure with friends at a place called Yallam Allah—“God knows”—and soon after decided to begin this new journey together as husband and wife.

Our Family (so far...)

We have two adorable dogs. There is Poppy, a 5-year old Golden Retriever who Julia rescued from tough times on the Dahab streets when he was around 1 year old. Our newest addition is Reggie, a Baladi (Egyptian street dog breed) puppy who we fostered after he had hip surgery and needed a place to stay - unsurprisingly, we fell in love and he became a permanent fixture in our lives.
